While Eagle's Roost Campground was built over 50 years ago, it is kept up-to-date by caretakers who live on the premises year-round.
Eagles Roost Campground no longer has overnight sites. It contains seasonal sites only. Please contact our office if interested. Full hook ups are available only on leased seasonal sites and seasonal sites may not be sublet. There are three dumping stations and two full service bath houses on the property as well as rest rooms in the office. The campground does not offer Internet service, but those with mifi devices or smartphones will find good coverage by most carriers.
Call for rates. Major credit cards are accepted.
All dogs must be kept on leashes. Occasionally, a squirrel or two may visit your campsite but the property is relatively "critter free" with many opportunities for seeing the wonders of nature--or catching them!

What's Nearby? Eagle's Roost Campground, on the east side of the lake in Bedford County, is between the Smith Mountain Lake State Park and Parkway Marina at Saunder's Point on VA state route 626. For families interested in geocaching, there are just under three hundred registered caches on the lake. A number of vineyards are within an hour's drive and the annual Smith Mountain Lake Wine Festival draws quite a crowd. The Smith Mountain Dam visitors' center is open Tuesday through Saturday. Parasailing is also available on the lake. Bridgewater Marina offers family activities such as miniature golf, an arcade and rappelling up and down a fake stone wall. |
